Model Kim Porter, the former girlfriend of rapper Diddy, has died. She was 47. "Sadly, I can confirm the passing of Kim Porter. I ask that you give the families privacy at this time," her representative, Cindi Berger, confirmed to USA TODAY. TMZ reports that the model and actress was found dead in her Los Angeles area home Thursday after authorities responded to a 911 call of a "patient in cardiac arrest." LAPD spokesperson Jeff Lee also confirmed to USA TODAY that "homicide detectives are at the scene of 10300 of Woodridge, conducting a death investigation of a female to determine if there is any foul play involved."  Lee adds that the call came at 11:38 this morning. Porter had an on-again, off-again relationship with Diddy (born Sean Combs) that spanned over a decade. Who was Amanda Crowe? Google honors legendary Cherokee artist

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, Google’s doodle team put together a video showcasing the legacy of Eastern Band  Cherokee Indian artist Amanda Crowe, beloved for her smooth, intricate animal woodcarvings. According to the Cherokee Encyclopedia, Crowe was born in 1928 in North Carolina’s Qualla Cherokee community and began learning to “draw and to carve” before she turned five years old. “I was barely big enough to handle a knife, but I knew what I wanted to do—I guess it was part of my heritage,” Crowe once said, according to the encyclopedia. By the time she turned eight, she was selling her woodwork. Both of Crowe’s parents died when she was young, and she was raised by a foster mother for much of her childhood. She’d study woodcarving with her uncle and eventually earned a scholarship to study at the Art Institute of Chicago. At 21-years old, the pressure to decide what type of life you hope to lead hits you like a truck. You have all the time in the world, you’re told. Your entire life is still ahead of you. But it doesn’t quite feel that way. You’re still learning who you are, what makes you tick, and what you’re capable of—yet someone seems to have hit start on the proverbial clock. The pressure can be unbearable. I don’t think Jamal Murray feels any pressure. At 21-years old, Murray spent his Tuesday night dropping 48 points on what is perhaps the very best defense in the NBA. The Boston Celtics came to play that night, too. They punished the Denver Nuggets with ruthless execution on the offensive end, and a relentless, tenacious effort on the other in the first quarter.
