Alabama vs. Auburn score: Live game updates, Iron Bowl highlights, football stats, full coverage

Image
AUBURN, Ala. -- No. 1 Alabama hosts rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl, a game that will resonate within the state for the next 365 days. All eyes will be on Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa -- the front-runner in the Heisman Trophy race. The sophomore has 31 touchdown passes and leads the nation in passer rating at 212.22. Auburn has struggled offensively due to issues along the offensive line, but QB Jarrett Stidham has the tangibles to make NFL scouts drool. He'll need an unusually strong performance from his big uglies against the Tide to replicate the success he had last year when he toppled the Tide and led the Tigers to the SEC West title. So far so good for Auburn at halftime as the Tigers have scored two touchdowns on the Tide, something neither LSU nor Mississippi State was able to do. Alabama does lead Auburn 17-14 at the break, but Auburn is nevertheless in the game at this point despite Stidham completing just 5-of-15 passes for 36 yards. A punt block that led t...

Follow live: What's happening in Tiger vs. Phil

Image
They've talked about it for months. Finally, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are going to actually get down to playing their $9 million winner-take-all match. From the first shot, to the side bets, to the conclusion, we have you covered for every hole of their trip around Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas. Scoreboard: Mickelson 1 up through 16 holes 16th hole: Par 5, 626 yards The same story continues ... two pars. Both had a chance at the long par 5, but as has been the case all day, neither could make anything happen. 15th hole: Par 4, 467 yards See if this sounds familiar: Both have to scramble for par. Mickelson hits a perfect, classic Phil flop shot to kick-in range. Woods hits an awful chip after missing the green and then misses the putt to fall back into a hole with three holes left. The chatter between Tiger and Phil has been, well, mostly non-existent. "We got into our old mode of trying to beat each other's brains in," Woods says as they wal...

Walmart Site Recovers After Shaky Start to Black Friday (Update: Walmart Responds)

Image
As of early Nov. 22, Walmart's website is fully operational and this story has been updated with a response from Walmart. They say misery loves company and today Walmart joined the ranks of Amazon as the former's website crashed just seconds after its Black Friday sales went live. Walmart had been teasing its Black Friday deals all week, and some of the best deals we had seen — such as this $99 Samsung Chromebook — were set to go live at 10pm ET tonight, but seconds after they went live, trouble reared its ugly head. First Walmart's site began to slow down and seconds later various shoppers and Tom's Guide editors began receiving error pages when browsing through Walmart. In a statement to Tom's Guide, a Walmart spokesperson said: Due to extremely high demand for our Black Friday deals last night, our site experienced some delays shortly after our event began online. Many customers were still able to check out smoothly, and we were able to quickly fix ...

American missionary, adventurer killed by tribe members on restricted and remote island

Image
The first time American John Allen Chau made it to the remote North Sentinel Island in the Indian Ocean, he came bearing gifts that included a football and fish. He interacted with some of the missionary — who survive by hunting, fishing and collecting wild plants and are known for attacking anyone who comes near with bows and arrows and spears — until they became angry and shot an arrow at him. It struck a book Chau was carrying, and the 26-year-old adventurer and Christian missionary swam back to a boat of fishermen that was waiting at a safe distance. That night, he wrote about his adventures and left his notes with the fishermen. He returned to the island the next day, on Nov. 16. What happened then isn't known, but on the morning of the following day, the fishermen watched from the boat as the tribesmen dragged Chau's body along the beach. Dependera Pathak, director-general of police on India's Andaman and Nicobar Islands, said Wednesday that the seven fis...

The rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine was in federal custody Monday awaiting a Manhattan court appearance on racketeering charges alleging that he participated in the July shooting of a bystander in Brooklyn and the gunpoint robbery of his gang's rivals last spring. The Brooklyn-based rapper, whose legal name is Daniel Hernandez, was among four people arrested on racketeering and firearms charges, authorities said. An attorney who has previously represented Hernandez did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Monday. The authorities also arrested three of Hernandez's former associates, Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, Jensel "Ish" Butler and Faheem "Crippy" Walter. It was unclear whether they had defense attorneys. 6ix9ine has been one of the most ascendant and controversial names in hip-hop in recent months. His album Day69: Graduation Day was among the top records on iTunes following its February release. He is also known for the ...
